Giulia Rimonda launches her new project: Resonance

Resonance – A glimpse into the life of a musician was born as a response to a concrete situation. In Italy, almost 50% of young people never attend classical music concerts, and only 6% attend more than five per year. In the United Kingdom, 59% of young people have never experienced a live symphonic concert; in the United States, classical music participation among under-30s has fallen by 30% in the last decade. It is therefore natural that the world of classical music - and its interpreters - is often perceived by younger generations as distant, unfamiliar, even mysterious.

Resonance was created - first as a podcast and then as a live event - with the desire to offer a new and authentic perspective on this world, giving voice directly to musicians themselves.

At just 23, Giulia Rimonda, wishes to break down the barriers surrounding classical music. With Resonance, she seeks to show the humanity and complexity of a musician’s life - not only the performances, but also the everyday reality, challenges, failures, and moments of growth that usually remain hidden.

The project begins with a 12-episode audio-video podcast in English, each episode inspired by an evocative word (Adrenaline, Journey, Heart, Limit…) and set in everyday spaces: a café, a train station, a rehearsal room. These are honest, intimate stories that reveal the real journey of a classical musician - between passion, doubts, discipline, and sacrifice.

Every episode is conceived as a monologue, with texts written by Giulia Rimonda, and is accompanied by an original playlist curated and performed by Rimonda and pianist Lorenzo Nguyen, transforming the narrative into an immersive experience. Two episodes also feature special guests: Beatrice Rana (Profession) and Avi Avital (Vacation).

The podcast will be available from 15 September 2025 on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube. Logistic coordination has been overseen by the Associazione Amici di Giovanna Maniezzo, while online promotion is managed by WildKat, international agency specialised in classical music communication.

Resonance is conceived as an online project that naturally evolves into live events, bringing audiences - especially younger ones - closer to the concert hall. After its first podcast season, Resonance will expand into concert seasons, offering a flexible and modular format. A first edition of Resonance Live - consisting of five events and a final concert - is already scheduled for 2026 with the Società dei Concerti di Bolzano, with further projects to follow.

Created and directed by Giulia Rimonda, with executive production by Ylenia Pazienza and script supervision by Giorgio Seita, the project also brings together the visual work of Gianluca Gattabria (Lead Filmmaker) and Maurizio Scarcella (Second Camera Operator), sound design by Luca Prata, and make-up and hair styling by Rita De Francesco.

An ambitious project, Resonance is built on the enthusiasm of its protagonists, the will to communicate, and the ability to connect with audiences on multiple levels (online, in non-traditional venues, in cultural spaces, theatres, and concert halls). Thanks to its freshness and originality, it speaks directly to people beyond the filters of age, interests, or cultural background - creating a new format that bridges the gap between musicians and listeners.
