World Premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino at Chigiana International Festival

On July 22, 2025, Giulia Rimonda took part in the world premiere of Due cori per l’Agamennone, the latest work by Salvatore Sciarrino, presented as part of the Destini e Profezie concert at the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy in Siena.

Composed in 2023 and premiered in the evocative Church of SS. Annunziata, the piece opened an evening dedicated to myth, voice, and prophecy - blending ancient tragedy with contemporary musical language. Giulia performed alongside Ettore Pagano (cello), a trio of female voices, and an ensemble of winds, piano and percussion, joined by the Coro della Cattedrale di Siena “Guido Chigi Saracini”, conducted by Lorenzo Donati.

The program continued with the premiere of Introitus et Oratio by Berislav Šipuš, followed by I Chori sopra la tragedia di Edipo Tiranno (1585) by Andrea Gabrieli and Prophetiae Sibyllarum by Orlando di Lasso, forming a powerful arc between prophecy, past and present.
