Giulia Rimonda x SINOPOLIANA
Twenty-five years after the passing of Giuseppe Sinopoli, Sinopoliana is launched by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Berlino as an international project dedicated to his artistic and intellectual legacy, unfolding across a year of concerts, talks, exhibitions and educational initiatives in cities such as Berlin, Dresden, Rome and Venice.
Giulia Rimonda contributes as both performer and creative curator. Her work within Sinopoliana stems from a deep artistic immersion into Sinopoli’s world, transforming research into a living musical narrative aimed at connecting audiences with the complexity of his vision.
A central moment of the programme will take place on June 29 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where Giulia Rimonda presents a chamber music project she has curated, collaborating with young musicians on a repertoire inspired by Sinopoli’s artistic universe and intellectual legacy.
The festival unfolds from April to November, crossing cities deeply connected to Giuseppe Sinopoli’s artistic journey, including Berlin, Dresden, Rome and Venice. Among the highlights are the opening concert at the Meistersaal in Berlin on the anniversary of his passing, a jazz project in Dresden by Marco Sinopoli, and a major performance at the Berliner Philharmonie featuring the Philharmonia Orchestra of London. Alongside the musical programme, the project also includes exhibitions, talks and a concluding conference at the Teatro La Fenice, a place closely tied to Sinopoli’s artistic career.
Sinopoliana thus emerges not only as a tribute, but as a living cultural laboratory - one that reactivates the relevance of Sinopoli’s thought today through the perspectives of artists like Giulia Rimonda, who embrace his legacy and project it into the future
